Fact: All breasts have the same number of nerve endings, no matter what their size is. This is also why smaller breasts are more sensitive.
Breasts are one of the erogenous zones on a woman’s body. The most important function of the female breasts is lactation. Breast feeding the young is a trait that all mammals possess. Breasts also serve as a stimulus for sexual arousal. 78% of the women claim that breast stimulation helps them get sexually aroused and thus is a must before any sexual intercourse. Breasts come in different sizes but research proves that the size only makes aesthetic differences. All breasts, regardless of size, have the same number of nerve endings.
Researchers believe that larger breasts are less sensitive because the nerve endings are stretched. Smaller breasts are more likely to be aroused much more quickly and require a sensitive touch because the nerve endings are closer together. Larger breasts are 24% less sensitive than smaller breasts. This however does not apply for the areola or the dark portion around the nipple. Larger nipples and areola have more nerve endings than smaller ones and thus are more easily aroused.
It is believed that larger breasts feel lesser pain and thus they can be handled with a little strength. Smaller breasts feel more pain when they are moved or fondled harshly.
